GRACE-Gift Received At Christ’s Expense
It is important to point out that many individuals, including a number of believers misunderstand the true meaning of salvation. Salvation is a gift received totally at Christ’s expense. There is absolutely nothing we can do to earn our way into heaven, except make a conscious and genuine decision to receive Christ’s free gift of salvation by faith. Some well-meaning believers keep busy, busy doing this and that for one organization after another, but spend little-if any time sincerely seeking the Lord and studying His Word with deep, heartfelt surrender. They seem to miss the point of the cross. It is not by works that we are saved, but by what Christ did for us at Calvary.

It is very important to show Christian love by our outward actions and deeds, but our good works should come from a repentant heart as a true reflection of our love and commitment to Christ. This is often referred to as living truly for the Lord or a “fruit of the spirit.” It is one thing to keep busy for various Christian causes, to help others and share the love of Yeshua. But to do so thinking any effort on our part will ensure salvation, is a mistake. Involvement with missions or evangelical projects is very important, but a balance of genuine fellowship and worship unto the Lord should not be overlooked. It is through Christ and Christ alone we are saved. When we do give of ourselves it should be because we love the Lord and want others to come to the saving knowledge of Him, not because we are trying to fulfill some sort of mistaken perception of man-made requirements necessary for salvation. A Better World Is Coming Soon – Don’t Miss It, Kit Olsen, (Expanded 2013 Edition, pages 171-172).

BECAUSE
I don’t love you because you are lovable – as much as this may serve to deflate your ego – sometimes, there is nothing lovable about you. But I love you still, not because I am human but because the Spirit of God rules me, so I am to love you because He loves me despite my being just as unlovable. I am shown your weaknesses simply because they mirror my own. And so, humbly, and gratefully, I can only bring to the altar all that I am. And I am nothing without you to show me just who I am.
